It's now 8 degrees outside, whereas previously the lowest it had dropped to was about 12 or 13. It's becoming colder by the day, with winter fast approaching. The leaves of the ginko and maple trees have begun to turn into a mellow yellow, and pretty soon they will turn red. Next week, I'm going leaves watching at Sam's place, cos apparently according to the weather forecast (which incidently includes a "when the leaves will turn colour" forecast), the leaves in his area will turn colour sometime next week. How the Japanese can make leaf viewing a national pastime I do not yet quite understand, but I do have a feeling that when I do get to see that pretty sight, I somehow will.

Today was a pretty relaxing day for me. I woke up sometime around 2, went to rent the 'Prince of Tennis' DVD, some manga, and then proceeded to do some sports (soccer) for the first time since coming here. Dinner was some tempura set meal thing which was rather oishii.

Yesterday was awesome fun though. Me and a couple of the JLCC (Japanese Language and Culture Course) people went for an annual festival organized by a Kyushu student's dormitory. For only 1000 yen, we got some pretty neat original concocted drinks (Kahlua milk tea being my fav), excellent home cooked food, and this for entertainment:

Half-naked, stocking clad grown men prancing around in their underwear doing an erotic dance. Very amusing, very funny but also not very appetizing.


Bra-wearing fighters split into the blue and pink team

The fighting begins: pink team person (my good friend Toru) gets wrestled and ultimately loses to a guy who looks and fights like he's been to K1 or the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Other fighting events included fighting with a "Fu-ran-su pan" (French baguette) - Basically slapping each other silly with bread.

Girls dressed in their "traditional" sailor uniforms dancing, producing many a nose-bleed.
